Liquid dispersed systems, widespread in a vast number of applications involving multiphase flows and everyday life, are formed always under dynamic conditions. The efficiency of dispersion is inseparably related to the coalescence and breakup of fluid particles (bubbles/droplets), which occurs always when one phase is being dispersed in the other. These phenomena depend on bubbles/droplets interfacial properties, i.e. hydrodynamic boundary conditions at the liquid/gas and/or liquid/liquid interfaces. The project is aimed to describe the role of interfacial properties modification on the dynamics of bubbles and drops, in order to elucidate the mechanisms of fluid particles breakup and coalescence, which is not fully understood.
